We know that this school year looks different from previous ones, but we are excited for another year filled with learning, exploration and discovery at BCPS! Since Michigan remained in phase 4 of its reopening plan to start the school year, BCPS began the year with in-person schooling for grades K–5 and temporarily remote schooling for grades 6–12, which will return to in-person when it is determined safe to do so based on state and local guidelines. Many families have also signed up for the largely self-paced Virtual Academy option. For Virtual Academy-specific platforms such as Pearson and Odysseyware, please click here.
Across all grade levels, there will be a greater emphasis on online learning platforms — and we want to make sure each family feels supported in using these resources. Below is a list of the online platforms that BCPS will be utilizing for remote learning throughout the school year, including instructions for how to access them. If you have any questions or issues accessing these platforms, please contact your student's teachers or email helpdesk@battle-creek.k12.mi.us.
Signing Into A Chromebook
Over the summer, the BCPS school board approved the purchase of enough Chromebook laptop devices to support every BCPS student. Check out this video to learn how to get your student started on a Chromebook at home:
Your Student’s BCPS Google Login (All Grades)
Logging into many of our online learning platforms requires the student's BCPS Google login as well as a login code that will be provided by their teachers.
If you are unsure of your login information, follow this template:

Seesaw (Grades K–2)
Elementary classrooms will utilize an easy-to-use tool called Seesaw to help students begin developing online learning skills to supplement classroom learning. On this platform, students can “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs and links, all of which can be easily shared with families by your student’s teacher. To login to Seesaw, use your student's BCPS Google account and the login codes provided by their teachers.
Additional resources:
Google Classroom (Grades 3–12)
With Google Classroom, students are able to access at-home learning resources, instruction and assignments. All students in grades 3–12, including those attending in-person school for grades K–5 or enrolled in remote school for grades 6–12, will be using Google Classroom. To log into the platform, use your student's BCPS Google account and the login codes provided by their teachers. Google Classroom is also available as a mobile app on both Apple and Android devices.
Additional resources:
Clever
Students are able to access at-home learning resources through Clever. To log in to the Clever Portal, students select "log in with Google." If your student was sent home with a Clever Badge, you can also login by selecting "log in with Clever Badges" and then hold your student's badge up to the camera on your device. Clever is also available as a mobile app on Apple devices (the app is not yet available on Android phones).
Zoom (Grades 6–12)
Zoom is a video conferencing platform that students in grades 6–12 who are engaging in remote school will use to attend live classes. In addition to video conferencing, Zoom also allows for small-group collaboration in breakout rooms, so students will have the chance to interact and learn alongside peers. You do not need an account to access Zoom, and can use Zoom either on a smartphone or laptop. Students will receive Zoom links from their teachers, and will be prompted to download and install the software the first time they log in.
Skyward (All Grades)
Families can use Skyward to update student contact information, see grades and review your student’s academic progress. Learn how to access Skyward here.
