In addition to having one of the highest starting salaries in our region, BCPS teachers are also eligible for other incentives, including bonuses, paid professional development, and a partnership with the City of Battle Creek, offering up to $20,000 in home purchase assistance.

$1,500 Signing Bonus
Base compensation starts at $50,000 — one of the highest starting salaries in SW Michigan — plus a $1,500 signing bonus in your first year
Home Purchase Assistance
Up to $20,000 towards down payment and closing costs for qualifying homes
Rental Assistance
Up to $4,500 in rental funds for qualifying, new 12-month leases
Educational Reimbursement
Up to $5,250 in reimbursement per year of Board-approved coursework
Paid Professional Development
Up to $2,000 per year through our Transformational Teacher Institute (TTI)
Teacher Attendance Incentive
Up to $700 based on attendance
