Make a Plan to Vote on the BCPS Middle School Transformation Bond Proposal

On November 2, voters in the Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS) district will be asked to consider a $44.8 million bond proposal that would reimagine the BCPS middle school experience and help us continue ensuring success for every student. If the bond measure passes, Northwestern will transform into a K-8 visual and performing arts academy, while Springfield will receive building renovations to continue its transition into a service-learning school. These renovations would transform learning experiences for our kids and create more thriving schools in our community! Learn more here.

Can We Count You In on Wednesday, October 6?

Count Day is Wednesday, October 6! This is the day the state uses to “count” the BCPS students in each of our schools. All public schools in Michigan receive state funding based on the number of students attending on this day — so it’s important that all of our Bearcats attend school all day on October 6. Make a plan to attend school on Wednesday, October 6!

Important Transportation Update

BCPS is facing a severe bus driver shortage which is likely to impact transportation on the first day of school and beyond. As of now, bus service limitations are impacting some students at Springfield, Northwestern, BC STEM, Post Franklin, Verona, LaMora Park and Ann J. Kellogg. We are working urgently on a solution, which may include later pickup and drop-off times, or support from community organizations. Stay tuned for more information.
