Elementary - Held in Verona Elementary

Students currently in kindergarten - 5th grade will experience:

  • A fun, safe summer camp environment that includes learning, exploration, and meeting new friends

  • Hands-on math, science, and craft projects

  • Activity-based afternoon experiences, field trips, and outdoor play with Bearcats Beyond the Bell

  • Fun Fridays with KYD Network for additional field trips to exciting destinations

Middle School - Held in BC STEM Innovation Center

Students currently in 6th - 8th grade will experience:

  • Career-focused, hands-on learning

  • Fun STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning opportunities

  • Afternoon activities with Bearcats Beyond the Bell focused on team-building and fun projects, plus field trips

  • Fun Fridays with KYD Network for additional field trips to exciting destinations


Get a Head-start in Math (8th graders only)

Current 8th graders can self-select a rigorous and collaborative experience of Algebra 1. Taking and passing this course in the summer gives students a choice in their high school schedule to take a higher level course such as College Board AP or Dual Enrollment courses.

Students who self-select this summer program are still eligible to participate in afternoon activities and clubs led by Bearcats Beyond the Bell as well as Fun Friday field trips with KYD Network!

High School - Held in Battle Creek Central High School

Students currently in 9th - 12th grade will experience:

  • Teacher-led credit recovery for those needing to catch up on credits to stay on track for graduation

These programs are at no cost and made possible through a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant and the 32n OST Grant sponsored by MiLEAP who is in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education
