Battle Creek Central High School welcomes a coach with more than a decade of championship experience across the high school, travel, and collegiate levels.
Hamilton began his coaching career under Terrence Porter at Farmington High School, where he served as an assistant coach. During the 2016–17 season, he also led the freshman team to a 12–5 record while helping the varsity squad finish 15–6.
At Farmington, he contributed to two league championships and a city title. His responsibilities included on-court coaching, scheduling, fundraising, team development, defensive planning, scouting, film breakdown, and academic support for players. Hamilton also served as a coach and recruiting coordinator for the Michigan Warriors select travel program from 2012–17 and again from 2018–21. In that role, he mentored players throughout the college recruiting process and built systems that kept students accountable in their academic and athletic performance. The systems he built simplified the recruiting process for student-athletes and parents.
In the 2017–18 season, Hamilton served as an assistant coach at Ferris State University under Andy Bronkema. The Bulldogs opened the year by winning 12 of their first 13 games, then added 26 consecutive victories on the way to the GLIAC regular-season title, GLIAC Tournament championship, Midwest Regional championship, and the NCAA Division II national championship. Ferris State finished the regular season ranked No. 2 nationally and ended the year as the No. 1 team in the country.
After his success at Ferris State, Hamilton returned to Farmington High School and resumed working with the Michigan Warriors travel program for the next four years. During that time, he mentored several players who went on to compete at the collegiate level, including Jaden Akins (Michigan State), Robert Davis Jr. (UMass, later Troy), Tariq Shepherd (Le Moyne-Owen and Benedict College), Tariq Humes (Macomb CC, Florida Memorial University, and Goshen College), and Elijah Warren (Ranger College and D’Youville University).
Hamilton later continued his coaching career at Fork Union Military Academy, where he helped guide players such as Carmelo Pacheco (UCF) and James Morrow (Jacksonville) to the next level. For the 2025–26 season, Hamilton joined Redford Thurston High School as the JV head coach and a varsity assistant coach alongside coach Michael Allie. The Eagles’ JV team finished 11–6, while the varsity squad posted a 20–3 record, went a perfect 14–0 at home, repeated as WAC League champions, and won a city title.
