Battle Creek Public Schools is excited to announce that the Zero Tax Increase BCPS Improvement Bond passed! This bond measure will generate $27 million in much-needed funds and an additional $1.7 million annually from funds that the district has already set aside over the years.
This means we can make critical improvements to our schools, ensuring safe, modernized, and world-class learning environments for the current and future generations of Bearcat students.
Here are more details on how the bond measure will support our students and schools across BCPS:
Security Updates: Technology evolves quickly, and we need to ensure that we are up to date with all security measures to protect our students.
Building Improvements: The average age of our buildings is 75 years old. The upkeep of these historic buildings is important as it directly impacts learning and attendance.
Playground Updates: Recreation is an important part of early childhood development. We want to make sure our community has safe places where children can play.
CW Post Stadium: Our stadium is an important part of our Bearcat community. Making sure our stadium remains safe for us and the visiting teams is just as important.
All Bearcat students deserve a world-class education and opportunities, and that requires world-class facilities. Thank you to everyone who voted yesterday and for your continued support! Together, we can build a brighter future for our students.
