Our Bearcats are doing great things! This month, students in Ms. Christina Taylor's Marketing Class took part in Kellogg's 10th annual project-based learning cereal branding project.
Working from the ground up, students built original cereal concepts that required them to think through every part of bringing a product to market: identifying a target market, developing a slogan, designing packaging, planning promotions and advertisements, and preparing a sales pitch. Each student then presented their concept to a panel of five judges.
The top place went to Taichi Matsuura for his "Mellow Dreams" nighttime cereal with melatonin-infused marshmallows. Second place went to Angel Harvey with "Lemon Bites," and third place went to Prince Taylor for "Blueberry Shadow Crunch," a ninja themed cereal that turns milk blue.
Beyond the competition itself, students had the opportunity to meet and talk with Sedik Galaiev, Chief Business Planning and Development Officer, and Jean-Baptiste Santoul, CEO of WK Kellogg Co., giving them a firsthand look at the kind of work and leadership that goes into a major consumer brand. A big thank you to Mr. Phillips for assisting with the students throughout the project.
