The Personal Growth and Development strand examines support for parents and caregivers on their journey to grow personally and professionally, in order to become the most effective advocate for their scholars.
Session I: Family Leadership Institute
Family Leadership Institute is a 10 week program for Latino-Hispanic Parents in the Battle Creek Area. Parents discuss identity, raising children in a bi-cultural society, budgeting, the American Education system, and create a Family Action Plan .

Session II: Community Organizing and Family Issues (COFI)
Session Description: The goal of family focused organizing is to help parents have a stronger voice in decisions made in local communities (and schools) that impact their families. By strenthening parent leadership we believe parents can help make their communities better places for children and families. Dinner will be served at 5:45 PM. Child care is also available.
