District-wide Instruction Updates for Second Semester

As we approach winter break, we wanted to communicate our plans for a return to in-person learning in January with plenty of advance notice. Grades Pre-K–5 will return to in-person learning five days per week on January 18, 2021. Grades 6–12 will return to in-person learning using a hybrid scheduling model on January 25, 2021.

At this evening’s board meeting, the BCPS school board voted to move forward with the next steps for a bond measure to transform Northwestern Middle School into a K-8 visual and performing arts academy and make building renovations to Springfield Middle School.

Free High-Speed Internet Option Available to Qualifying BCPS Families

We’re excited to announce that through a new partnership with Comcast and the Battle Creek Community Foundation, BCPS families now have access to a program offering FREE high-speed home internet to those who qualify. The Comcast Internet Essentials Partnership program will provide free equipment and high-speed home internet for qualifying families for up to 12 months.

BCPS Board Approves Move to pre-K-12 Remote Learning

In response to the continued community spread of COVID-19 in Calhoun County, the BCPS School Board has approved a plan to move all grades to remote instruction starting Monday, November 23. This includes grades Pre-K-12 as well as Adult Education.

BCPS families with students in need of a desk to support at-home learning can pick one up for free this week at Urbandale Elementary Thursday, September 17 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 19: 9 from a.m. - 12 p.m.
