District Transformation Coach

Essential Job Functions:

Equity-focused Transformation Coach: Facilitate the school leader’s ability to maintain a focus on student learning, while supporting the implementation of a culturally relevant, coherent, standards-based instructional program. Responsibilities include the following:

• Support the development of a Theory of Action that identifies strategic school initiatives
• Support the development of a year-long Professional Learning Plan
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency to attain dramatic gains in student learning
• Serve as a constructive "critical friend" to teacher leaders and building administrators as they envision, strategize, and reflect on the process of whole-school reform to realize academic achievement
• Work with grade-level and school-wide teams to coordinate standards-based curricula
• Build the capacity of instructional coaches to ensure the transfer implementation of professional learning into their classrooms

Preferred Qualifications

• MA in Educational Leadership

• Knowledgeable about Systems and Structures for ongoing continuous improvement, standards-aligned instructional planning and teaching, effective use of assessment, and culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy.

• Skill and experience utilizing data for continuous instructional improvement

• Experience in group facilitation and leading professional development

• Knowledge of current research related to school reform, school improvement and educational equity

• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
