The scholarship window opens November 1, 2017 and closes April 1, 2018. Senior students and Adults apply at 

Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC)

Submit an application for the NROTC Scholarship. Successful applicants will receive full-tuition paid, a book allowance, and monthly stipend. All of this while earning a Bachelor's degree of any major. Visit the website for more information on eligibility requirements, a list of NROTC Schools, and military service requirements. or visit the counseling center for more information.

ELKS Most Valuable Student Scholarship Contest

Available to all seniors. Submit application by November 30, 2017 to Mrs. Hollins or Ms. Bushouse. Applications can be found at and are open to any senior graduating in 2018. If earned, this competitive scholarship is for a minimum renewable award of $1,000. State and National awards go up to $12,500 per year to a 4-year college or university.

Public Universities - Scholarships

Central Michigan University

Leader Advancement Scholarship: Your students will enhance and develop their leadership skills with this scholarship valued at $8,000 over four years ($2,000 per academic year). A cohort of 40 outstanding incoming freshmen will complete specified courses together while earning a leadership minor.


  • Carry at least a 3.0 high school grade point average (gpa)
  • Apply for admission at Central Michigan University
  • Demonstrate qualities such as integrity, self-confidence and a desire to lead
  • Complete the online scholarship application by November 15 

Eastern Michigan University

Presidential Scholarship: Qualified students will be competing for a chance to receive our largest academic award - a four-year full-ride Presidential Scholarship, valued at approximately $69,500 over four years. Traditionally, 16-20 Presidential Scholarships are awarded each year.

High school students in the Class of 2018 will participate in the Presidential Scholarship Competition on October 28 or November 18, 2017

You are eligible to compete in the Presidential Scholarship Competition if you are a current high school senior in the Fall of 2017, officially admitted to the University for Fall 2018 and you meet or exceed the GPA/test score combination below:

Minimum qualifications:
GPA = 3.5 (cumulative)

ACT = 25 (composite)
SAT = 1200 (on 1600 scale)

You must be officially admitted to Eastern Michigan University in order to compete.

Michigan Technological University

Leading Scholar Award: Honors students from all academic areas who demonstrate outstanding leadership and scholarly achievement in the classroom and beyond.

  • Submit completed scholarship materials by October 15
  • Apply for admission to Michigan Tech - It's Free! You must have an application on file by October 15 to be considered for this scholarship

 This Scholarship covers full tuition, room and board, plus $1,000 for fees and other expenses; It's renewable for 4 years (eight semesters), based on academic performance.

Northern Michigan University

Presidential Scholars Competition: The Presidential Scholars Competition is designed for academically talented high school seniors to compete for ten "full-ride" and ten full-tuition scholarships.  In addition to the 20 large scholarships, approximately 200 smaller scholarships will be awarded to participants (these can be added to scholarships awarded at the time of admission).

The scholarship competition dates for high school seniors graduating in 2018 (who will be new freshmen in fall 2017) are October 29-30 and November 12-13, 2017.

To apply for the scholarship competition, students must have an ACT composite score of 24 or higher (or an SAT combined score in math and critical reading of 1090 or higher) AND a cumulative (ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades) high school GPA of 3.50 or higher. Students who have not taken the ACT/SAT must do so no later than October in order to be eligible for the competition. Students must apply for admission and submit transcripts and test scores prior to the competition deadlines so we can determine eligibility.

Western Michigan University

Medallion Scholarship:

Value: $15,000 annually ($60,000 total award)


  • 3.7+ cumulative GPA on a 4-point scale at end of junior year
  • 26+ ACT composite or SAT of 1170+ (math + critical reading)
  • Eligible students participate in one of two Medallion competition day Nov 18, 2017
  • For first-time, full-time freshman students entering fall 2018
