Meet Your Counselors
Mrs. Brown is the Freshman Academy Counselor. Mrs. Brown attended Western Michigan University where she completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies…Let’s Ride! Mrs. Brown has worked in education for almost 14 years. Positions held prior to becoming a School Counselor include Parent Educator, Intervention Specialist, as well as a Family and Consumers Science Teacher. Mrs. Brown has thoroughly enjoyed working in all positions held thus far and plans on employing skills acquired throughout her years in education into her new role as a School Counselor.
Freshman year is an exciting time for both parents and teens! Mrs. Brown wants every student to be successful here at BCC. In doing so, it is important that all freshman work hard, take positive risks and accept opportunities that will propel them in the right direction.

Mrs. Hollins is our 10th - 12th grade counselor at Battle Creek Central High School serving students in the Blue Academy. Mrs. Hollins graduated from Spring Arbor University with a Masters degree in Counselor Education. Mrs. Hollins is an active member of the American School Counseling Association.

Ms. Bushouse is our 10th – 12th grade Counselor for the GOLD Academy serving students in the Gold Academy. Ms. Bushouse graduated from Western Michigan University with a Masters degree in Counselor Education. Ms. Bushouse previously worked at Minges Brook Elementary, Dudley Elementary, and Northwestern Middle School. She is a SGLN Certified Trainer, a Restorative Practices Trainer, and an active member of American School Counselor Association.
