Clear Lake Camp

Calling all walkers and runners,

Run or walk through forests, up hills, and around fields. Race the one lap 4K, two lap 8K or the 1 mile family fun run. Sign up for one race or multiple events. Registration fee includes cotton short sleeve t-shirt. Register by April 1, 2015 to guarantee correct shirt size. Limited number of shirts available on race day.

Race proceeds support the Bearcat Summer Day Camp Program, which allows kids to have fun at camp.

Is your school the best? Here is your chance to show off your school pride.
If you are a K-12 teacher, staff, parent or student, add the name of your school on the participation information section. Teams consist of 3 or more runners or walkers from the same school in the 4K race only. The event will be scored cross country style. Points are awarded to runners based on their finishing position. The sum of the points from each team's fastest three runners determines that team's score. The team with the lowest point total wins.

The Outdoor Education Center, (or the OEC), is located 12 miles north of Battle Creek near Dowling, MI on beautiful Clear Lake.  The OEC is carrying on a school camping tradition that has spanned over 60 years. We conduct both day, residential and outreach programs for all ages.  Currently, all Battle Creek Public School 5th graders attend a week long residential camp with a empasis on science.

Programs offered at the Outdoor Education Center:

-Resident School Camping Program

-Living History Program at our Pioneer Cabin  (5 hr.  Day Program)

-Spring Baby Animal Program ( 2 hr. Day Program)

-Robotics Program (3 hr. Day Program)

-High Adventure Programs featuring our Climbing Tower or High Ropes Course (4 hr. Day Program each)

-OEC on the Road - Outreach Programs (Various actvities can be done at your site including robotics.)

Other Opportunities……

-Students enrolled in the summer school program, Bearcat Camp, spend one afternoon a week at the Outdoor Education Center participating in various age specific programs.

-Family Weekend Programs- We host a spring Eco Trail Race, Fall Harvest Open House, Spring Baby Animal Open House.  Check our calendar and visit our website for more details.
