Bearcat Tracks
This page provides links to narrative descriptions about planning that should take place for each year a student is in high school with brief descriptions about what to expect. The graduation requirements are also included here on a yearly basis to provide information about phasing in new graduation requirements as they were affected by Michigan’s new curriculum for high schools and changes to Battle Creek Central’s daily schedule. Bearcat tracks pages are intended to help you maximize what can be accomplished while you are here. We have included some thoughts for middle-school students who will be transferring to Central under the novice tracks heading because planning early is important. The graduation requirements detailed here are the minimum standards a student must meet to obtain a Battle Creek Central High School diploma. Novices should follow the 2010 link to find out what their requirements will be.
Battle Creek Central participates in the Making-it-Count program where students receive valuable presentations from this not-for-profit organization in their Junior and Senior Years. Making-it-Count brings business leaders into schools to share important information about schooling and work. In the past Making-it-Count has done presentations to all our Juniors and Seniors about Making High School Count, Making College Count, and Making Financial Aid Count. These short presentations contain invaluable information that can make a big difference. We provide this link to augment and supplement Bearcat Tracks and hope you will refer to this site often for valuable and current information.
