Beginning with the 2006-2007 school year, Battle Creek Central is in the process of changing our requirements for graduation. The new requirements are influenced by legislated mandates that describe how all Michigan students will be educated in high school and a change in the structure of our school day that will have students taking six classes each day and an abbreviated advisory class. The information provided for each year of graduation in the links below is based on the accumulation of credits. Credits are valued based on the amount of instruction that occurs for each class. Full year classes earn a full credit and semester/half-year classes earn a half a credit. Advisory also earns credit at the rate of one half credit per year. You have opportunity to earn 6½ credits each year. Some classes are required, others are elective and can be chosen from a variety of career and interest oriented classes. Electives are listed generally in the graduation requirements but can include additional course work in required areas.
