Elementary Schools

We would like to take a few minutes to inform you of what your child(ren) can look forward to each year of elementary school with Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS) and to show you some exciting specials that we offer.

21st CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS
Supervised Before-school and After-school Programs
• Available to all elementary and middle school students
• Breakfast and/or dinner provided
• Homework help and academic instruction in core subjects
• Enrichment: crafts, board games, Family Y Center, cultural events, field trips, and much more.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTER
Fifth graders attend a week long Residential School Camp Program in the fall. Schools also have the option of participating in both the Farm Animal and Pioneer Cabin programs in the spring.

BEARCAT SUMMER CLUBHOUSE AND OTHER SUMMER PROGRAMS
Six weeks of summer activities and enrichment for K to 4th grade students. The morning classes focus on academics, especially reading, writing, and math. After lunch the students are involved in a variety of enrichment activities sponsored by 21st Century such as field trips to museums, the art center, Binder Park Zoo, bowling, and the Y-Center. One afternoon a week students attend the Outdoor Education Center for swimming and other outdoor experiences. Check with an elementary school principal for details or call 965-3883.
