Educational Plan Goals:


Goal 1: Improve student academic performance each year in Mathematics and English Language Arts

  • Objective 1.1: at grade levels 4, 6, 8, and 11, as indicators of the difference between the state and district percentage of student proficiency in Mathematics will decrease by at least 2 percentage points annually
  • Objective 1.2: at grade levels 4, 6, 8, and 11, as indicators of the difference between the state and district percentage of student proficiency in English Language Arts will decrease by at least 2 percentage points annually

Goal 2: Eliminate the achievement gap between ethnic groups

  • Objective 2.1: as measured by state assessment instruments at grades 4, 6, 8, and 11, as indicators of any differences in proficiency in Mathematics and English Language Arts will decrease by at least 2 percentage points annually within the district
  • Objective 2.2: as measured by state assessment instruments at grades 4, 6, 8, and 11, as indicators of any differences in proficiency in Mathematics and English Language Arts between ethnic groups in the district and those in the state will decrease by at least 2 percentage points annually

 

Goal 3: Improve the rate of student success in all district high schools

  • Objective 3.1: the difference in the rate of graduation between each individual high school in the district and the rate for the state will improve by at least 1 percentage point annually
  • Objective 3.2: the dropout rate at each individual high school in the district will improve by at least 1% each year and will be no greater than the annual rate for the state
  • Objective 3.3: at least 90% of the district’s graduates will be satisfied with the quality of preparation they received from their high school

 

Goal 4: Improve the teaching and learning environment in the district through the implementation of building mergers, maintenance and renovation of existing facilities, new construction, or other actions as dictated by the needs of students

  • Objective 4.1: the district will renovate/build its educational facilities in order to meet the defined ideal standards for teaching and learning
  • Objective 4.2 : the district will accomplish its facilities goal while maintaining fiduciary responsibility to the community and its taxpayers

 

Goal 5: Provide prudent stewardship of all public and private resources allocated to the organization by ensuring cost-effective, outcome-oriented, and fiscally responsible operations and student programming

  • Objective 5.1: financial reporting will continue to be timely, accurate, and presented in a form and frequency that meets the needs of stakeholders
  • Objective 5.2: the district will continue to practice strict adherence to professional accounting standards
  • Objective 5.3: renovation and construction related to the district’s 2007 bond issue will be completed at or below budget

 

Goal 6: Improve community and stakeholder recognition of the quality and value of educational opportunities and programs in the district

  • Objective 6.1: increase opportunities to promote district outreach initiatives
  • Objective 6.2: determine the nature and quality of student, parent, and staff perceptions concerning the educational activities and safety of the district
  • Objective 6.3: determine the level of stakeholder understanding and perception of value of the unique programmatic offerings of the district
